Curvy diva gets
‘intimate’ with Teejay
Yanique Curvy Diva has tongues wagging once more with the release of the new sexy collaboration with Teejay.
The single, Intimacy, is produced by Damage Music and was released on Valentine's Day.
Damage Musiq in recent months has produced quality projects, and the team believes that pairing the two artistes was the right fit for the Intimacy project.
"The riddim is cosy and seductive and called for sexy lyrics. With Up Top Boss Teejay dominating songs in the ladies' segment and Curvy Diva being one of the hottest females in dancehall right now, we knew it would be a winning combination," Dwayne Parkinson, CEO of Damage Musiq, said.
The single's Valentine's Day release was also strategic as the day is recognised as a commercial celebration of romance all around the world.
"The song is very sexy and is about a couple who enjoy each other's company. I think fans can relate to the idea of telling your partner what you like. The video will be just as sexy," Curvy Diva said.
The single has been receiving excellent reviews thus far and should also benefit from visuals to be shot in a few days. Working with Teejay was also fun for Yanique, and she is looking forward to the actual video shoot.
"Teejay is super-talented so when Sandz promoter Andrew Ellis came to me with the opportunity, I couldn't resist putting some sexy lyrics to the track," Yanique added.
The Curvy Diva is currently working on a few singles for her yet-to-be-titled EP and is preparing to open for international Afrobeat artiste Wizkid for the Afrobeat Festival in Montreal, Canada, at the end of March..

Montego Bay-based producer Dwayne Parkinson, more popularly known as Damage, is beating a drum for more Jamaican musicians to broaden their horizon and collaborate with foreign acts in a bid to build on the mainstream attention that the Jamaican cultural form is getting.
Damage, CEO of Damage Musiq, produced a song titled Mama Stories on Shatta Wale's album, Reign, which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard world chart.
"Shatta Wale is a dancehall artiste, and we made a connection from Jamaica to Africa, and he flew to Jamaica, and we did some work in the studio. And to see it and create this history, it is really amazing," Damage told The STAR.
"He (Shatta Wale) premiered it on Mother's Day for a prominent politician, who is his mother, and the song just blew up from there, and the rest was history. He called me and told me that the song was number one in Ghana and he was gonna make sure that the song was on the album and he is going to come back to Jamaica for us to do more work," he added.
Damage said that working with overseas acts who are eager to do dancehall and reggae will help the music.
"It is important that we work with them because they are tapping into our culture and we can make the culture mainstream by connecting internationally," said Damage, who has worked with entertainers such as Tommy Lee, Masicka and Shane.
Damage hopes to work with the likes of Rihanna, Vybz Kartel and Damian Marley in the future..

IRecord producer Dwayne 'Damage' Parkinson says it is extremely difficult for persons from western Jamaica, particularly Montego Bay, St James, to make it big in the national and international spheres.
"MoBay is mostly known as a tourist attraction. There is no media outlet down this side to really push the music on the radio. Most, if not all, the DJs are mainly located in Kingston. Even when you have well-known artistes on your rhythms its still a struggle to stay in MoBay and push it out and network," he said.
Montego Bay has given birth to several stars including Teejay, Rhyme Minister, and Tommy Lee Sparta. Earlier this year said that "if you nah reach out to Kingston is like yu missing."
Whole package
"Kingston is the whole package and the media is in Kingston ... From Montego Bay, it's like you are pushing the water uphill. Even when people in Kingston know about your work, you still need to make an impact in Kingston city," Teejay said.
Damage, meanwhile, is celebrating the relative success of his first commercially popular record, Savage Life, by controversial dancehall artist Tommy Lee Sparta.
"I am from Montego Bay but the way the thing a spread right now I have been linking with several artistes in Kingston because the music a reach dem ear and dem like the sound. People like Fantan Mojah, Tommy Lee, Chi Ching Ching, Gully Bop and Shawn Storm, just a name a few are all people, who have given me the cosign and motivation to carry on," Damage said.
While stating that he has a working chemistry with Tommy Lee Sparta, the producer is plotting to release his debut EP as a collaboration with the Uncle Demon deejay.
"My EP will be called Diamond Blessing and will feature a 10 track compilation. I am also working on a project with Mavado and its basically growth from here on. Montego Bay is not the fastest place to grow musically because we are known for tourism, but wi a work and hard work must pay off," he said..
